Her story is very interesting for many of us because it tells a lot about her and her family surviving in the Secret Annex before it had happened. Her story from the diary helped a lot about how they had to live secretly which was a lot difficult for her and the family.
Many people have learned about the Holocaust throughout the years, but learning about it from a primary source is a whole different experience. A scary journey that turned out to be the Holocaust has been told by two individuals that survived. These two stories tell the reader what life was like and what they went through. Even though the conditions were terrible, both Eli and Lina were able to survive and break away through fear, horrendous experiences, and hope that lead them to surviving and leaving people they cared about behind.
There is a very important person named Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel was a very important person that was in the Holocaust. He has wrote a book called “Night” describing his time during the Holocaust in (1941-1945). Throughout the Holocaust a lot of his life has changed. In 1943, during World War II, there was a mass genocide of the Jewish population. Many people in the concentration camps had lost everything from clothes to family to names. These people who after losing everything, gave up, lost their lives. But those who continued putting one foot in front of the other, made it through to the end. Elie Wiesel, a young boy at the time, has lived to tell the world about his experiences in Auschwitz.
“All the victims of the holocaust were not Jewish, but all the Jews were the victims of the Holocaust.” Elie Wiesel was an author who wrote an autobiography about the Holocaust called “Night”. He was born on September, 30, 1928 in Sighet, Romania and his world revolved around family, religious study, community, and god. His entire life turned around in 1944 when he was deported to a concentration camp called Auschwitz. Elie Wiesel survived the holocaust and it was a harsh experience for him, he saw everyone suffering slowly.
If those facts are not enough to support the horrible killings upon the Jewish community and other minority groups, there are the stories of individuals that survived the unspeakable ordeal. Their stories match up with the confessions of Nazi soldiers. Reinhold Hanning, now 94 years old, was an Auschwitz guard and apologized in a trial in Germany for participating on the mass killings at the concentration camps. He said, “No one in my family knew that I was active at Auschwitz” (qtd. in Oltermann). During the trial, Hanning confessed he was ashamed of his actions and never revealed his story until now, like him there are others that do not want to relive their dishonorably pass and keep quiet.
I learned how many people has survived through the holocaust if they were Jews. The Jews that were in the concentration camp were brave and had courage to survive. From 1933 to 1945, Jews lived in fear, not one was safe. In the horrible time of the Holocaust, Jewish people of all ages and conditions were harassed and even executed.

In this research essay I am going to talk about the heroes that really caught my eye by the things they’ve done to try and make things better. Irene was born in Poland into a Catholic family. Nazis deported his family to Auschwitz where his mother and sister were gassed, while, Szymon was placed in Kinder block but after sometime he ran away to meet his family in Auschwitz.
