Technology has helped simplify life, it has changed how we communicate and it has solved many of the worlds problems. With new ideas about medicine it not only “saved thousands of lives” but it “encouraged “doctors to begin new research” (“1920’s medicine”). “Antibacterial drugs and Sulfa drugs were released” this helped people live longer and it helped people to become more resistant to sickness and diseases without this there could have been another pandemic which could have kill thousands of people (“1920’s medicine”).
Tech in the 1920’s Imagine you live in a United States without mass production, the more you think about it you realize how hard it would be. But luckily, we live in a world with mass production so we don't need to worry about that. All of that is thanks to the 1920s. Many things contribute for the possibility of technology to advance the economics in a period, especially since every area has different needs. A few contributing factors were slavery, population growth and risk and benefits. Mokyr even thinks that every invention raises the amount of technological need; once something is created people scramble to create something better, something to advance it even farther. During the early period technological advance was rare possibly due to slave labor, the labor was basically free and the rich owners made a lot of money off them, and they did not care to help make the process easier or faster for them. The educated inventors had to learn to communicate with the labor field to find where advances could be made.
The 20th century brought many challenges and many advancements, this century began on January 1, 1901, and ended on December 31, 2000. Some have called the 20th Century the bloodiest Century of all times, others believe the 20th Century was a time for many positive advancements in science, technology, communication, religious and cultural tolerances. Both sides can easily be argued or debated. When preparing for my argument, I just kept thinking about the value of each argument. Yes, the 20th Century advancements brought much change and growth to the United States and other countries.
Imagine a world where communication is difficult, there is not a lot of entertainment, and places are hard to get to. This actually was the world in the 1900s-1910s. Technology has come a long way since the early 1900s. Our world has become more advanced and fast paced due to the advances of technology.
