This is an exceptionally controversial question; whether or not Roosevelt's new deal was successful in solving the major problem of the Great Depression. The Great Depression began on October 29, 1929 when the American stock market crashed, causing the country to shift into an economic downturn. In 1933, at the height of the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt implemented the New Deal as a liberal response to the Great Depression. The New Deal was successful in ending the Great Depression by reducing unemployment and making life better for workers.
While some believe that the New Deal was a success, others believe that it failed. Some may argue that the New Deal was unsuccessful in reducing unemployment
