Brother sometimes fight but they eventually get over them as time goes on. In the book Watsons Go to Birmingham -1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis,one of the main characters, is becoming an average teenager and gets in arguments with Kenny another main character. However as time goes on they realize they need each other during horrific event that place, as they take a journey to Birmingham, Alabama. Kenny and Byron’s relationship in the beginning of the story was skeptical,their not always liking each other and their not always hating each other. In chapter 4 Froze up southern Folks,”Byron helps Kenny stand up to Larry Dunn, but also gives Kenny a pop in the stomach for not hitting Larry hard enough when he had the chance”. In chapter 8 The Ultra-Glide! Kenny and Byron’s dad got an Ultra-Glide which plays music from a record player in the car. When By and Kenny were listening to music , they could actually agree on music to listen to. Even though that may not seem like that big of a deal for Kenny and By it’s a huge step because they are two different people that can finally agree on one type of music. When Kenny and Byron were in the alley behind Mitchell’s when Byron was having mixed emotions about killing the bird and told Kenny to “Get the hell out of here,what you staring at punk”.Even though Byron was showing Kenny and socialising with him he still had a mood swing like a grouchy teen. During their time in Birmingham Kenny,Byron,and joetta were warned not to go to Collier’s landing. Kenny decides he wants his own fantastic adventures so he goes to Collier's landing to swim. Kenny ends up getting into trouble and is starting to drown. Byron lucky can in time can sve Kenny, By was so scared Kenny had drowned that when he got him out of the water he was kissing him on the head. This shows how even though Kenny could be annoying and not listen to byron when he says not to go somewhere possibly losing a brother would be hard on By and may make him get into even more trouble cause Kenny isn’t there to stop him. I believe their relationship will become stronger because By saved Kenny’s life. When byron and kenny we're in the bathroom after the bombing, Kenya was feeling ashamed of himself for not saving Joetta, but Byron cheered him up.This shows that if their relationship has not been as strong as it was,By would have told Kenny to suck it up, but by told kenny everything was ok and let Kenny crie on him.After what happened in Birmingham they have become stronger brother and
