How would you act if your family portrayed the look that they were perfect, but secretly greedy, odd, and hateful. In the book We Were Liars Written by E. Lockhart, a young girl named Cadence suffers a serious head injury, and her family tries to hide the truth behind it from her, as she slowly starts to remember what seriously happened she starts to change as a person. She also realizes how bad her family really is and doesn't want to be a part of it. From the beginning of the book to the middle to the end, Candance changes a Jurassic amount in many different ways. In the first half of the book Cadence suffers from 2 very important and tragic events. “Then he pulled out a handgun and shot me in the chest. I was standing on the lawn and I fell. The bullet hole opened wide and my heart rolled out of my rib cage and down into the flower bed.”(E. Lockhart) The leaving of her father dramatically shakes Cadence´s life. “ I must have had my face in the water and then hit my head on one of these rocks.Like I said, I don’t know.”(E. Lockhart) Candances does not remember the injury at all, and forgets almost everything before as well. In Conclusion, Cady changes things in her life because she is grieving because of what she had done and changes her appearance because she doesn't want to be a part of the Sincalir family
