There have been countless debates and arguments concerning welfare over past years. Many consider welfare a bad way to help people, but others believe it has helped society to advance and grow. Welfare provides financial stability to the poor and also allows one live. They come in different appearances with the most common one being the food stamp. Food stamps allow families to get the food they need. Many families depend on welfare to be able to support their families. People cannot live without food or water. However, welfare has allowed some people to have access to food and water. The income that people get from welfare allows them to live by letting them have the money to be able to eat and drink. The income also helps people to get clothing for the cold winters, so they do not freeze to death. Income is very important to everyone trying to live. In this world, money is basically everything. Without money, one cannot do anything. But with the small bit of income that welfare provides for one, they could use that to try to get back on their feet (Virginia). Another reason why welfare is good is that it can provide healthcare to families. Medicaid is the form that welfare exists in to help people in providing medical needs for their families. Everyone is vulnerable to getting sick or hurt. When people get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor’s office or the hospital. Welfare has decreased the percentage of people in poverty by a significant amount and will continue to do so (NCPA). Without welfare, many people would be in desperate need of money and could start doing illegal stuff just to get what they need. People wouldn’t be able to get medical needs to help themselves.
