There are a lot of components that I use within the Wesleyan Quadrilateral that I use in my everyday life. I tend to ask questions about my faith, I believe, is it necessary for Christian college students to experience. I’m learning this now at this point in my life that this is a better opportunity for me start contemplating about what I believe and challenge my faith a little bit. Wesleyan Quadrilateral is a theological process for understanding God’s truth in areas not specially addressed in scripture. In my daily life I try and use scriptures when I am faced with something I do not understand or when I am angry and need to find some guidance. According to Wesleyan Quadrilateral Tradition is a big part of seeking faith and understanding. It’s appealing to a young adult like me to neglect the lessons of those who came before me. In today’s fast pace world, it’s easy to feel sometimes out of touch with the beliefs of my parents or grandparents, but I did not forget that traditions just do not show up out of thin air. At countless points in history, a sufficient amount of people must have decided that these things were good concepts. Reason is essential though faith and purpose might appear at odds; in order to have balance you must have both. I think if we lack reason, as a Christian I won’t be able understand the important truths of Scripture. God created us to be intelligent being the usage of reason is a gift from God. However since purpose is not a human development, it essentials support from the Holy Spirit. Faith and reason are expected to work together.
