The most significant legacy of Rome, their greatest influence on the course of the human race, is their role in the spreading of the Christian faith. Today, it stands as the most widespread religion in the world, with over 2.04 billion followers of Christianity and its many derivations. The Christian faith has had a hand in almost every event following its creation, including wars, politics, and the lives and deaths of countless people.
