Behind a great piece of work, whether it’s music, art, or writing, there is a creator.
That creator had an idea, and that idea was simply a wee thought. Thus saying that
W.F. Harvey had a thought in which lead to a great short story of his called “August
Heat”. Now, we are intrigued by the way he approached his writing. This short story of his is filled with many writing skills due to the fact that it is considered to be suspensful.
In any sort of suspensful writing it needs a few qualities in order to be considered thrilling, so that is what W.F. Harvey exactly did. His short story, August Heat, was able to grasp suspense in it becuase it was realistic, foreshadowed, and it was able to manipulate the reader.

So, both of this qoute greatly captured realism. Overall, realism is a key point inorder to create suspense. “A great horror story reflects people’s deepest fears.(...) The characters in horror stories may be realistic(...). Realism leads simply leads to suspense.
Harvey also created suspense beucause he foreshadowed in his story.
Foreshadowing within a story is a good quality to build tension. “Foreshadowing is the use of hints to suggest evenst later in thel plot. A horror writer may use fore shadowing to suggest a frightening even that awaits a main character ” (D’Aco, pg. 90) Tension then leads to one feeling uncertainty or anxiety. Harvey successful built tension in his readesr as they read his story.
I rolled up the sketch, and without quite knowing why, placed it in my pocket.
Then with the rare sense of happiness which the knowledge of a good thing well done gives, I left the house ( Harvey, pg. 93).
This qoute is a great and only foreshadow he provided for in the story. Although it was the only foreshadow he included, it played a geat role. The qoute caused us to be
