A courageous woman who fought for women's rights and equality of all human beings are just a few accomplishments of Eleanor Roosevelt. She once said, "Women are like teabags. You don't know how strong they are until you put them in hot water." In other words, Eleanor concludes women should be evaluated to show their strength and integrity. From World War II to the Ku Klux Klan, Eleanor Roosevelt was and continues to be in hot water many times. Despite these problematic stages, she still shows strength and courage in times of tragedy. During these time periods, she made amazingly controversial achievements. Eleanor Roosevelt deserves to be Angelina Jolie's successor for UNICEF. Surprisingly, Eleanor was known as the "ugly duckling" and was ridiculed by her own family. She said when she was older, “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Even through all the hatred, she never let her family make her feel inferior. In addition to the taunting, she dealt with three close family members passing, including her father and beloved uncle who she was very close with. Despite these setbacks, Eleanor still found love and continued on with her life. As Eleanor became interested in politics, her husband, Franklin Roosevelt, was elected as president. However shortly after, he became very ill. In addition to her being a fighter, she also fought for her husband’s survival. In fact, when he became ill, she aided him, acted as his conscience, and was by his side twenty four seven. Furthermore she became his partner to help with many important topics. However, Franklin sadly passed away, but Roosevelt is still known as the "First Lady of the World". Even though her connection to politics is gone, she is still finding ways to help the world. For instance, after Franklin died, Roosevelt started to serve in the United Nations General Assembly and is chair of the UN Human rights commission. Even after her husband's horrendous death, she still is tenacious and shows courage everyday. Qualities such as these are exactly why Roosevelt should be the UNICEF
