When an offender is release from prison their life is over due to the way the criminal justice have develop. Many would concur that there is a problem with strength based. As clearly demonstrated there will always be pros and cons towards an issue.
(5 points) The consequences of not prosecuting are that the perpetrator will continue to do the same thing to other companies. Miller didn’t choose to specifically steal from one company and not another. If they had money, Miller was going to take it. It is possible that co-workers and bosses saw signs of it and chose to ignore it which lead to more assets being stolen.
The two advantages of implementing these steps are first. The employee and employer would share both prosperity and adversity and thus antagonism between them would disappear. Second there would be no more strikes or lockouts thus ending the loss of profit on both sides. 13.

The National Restaurant Association estimates that employee theft accounts for about 75% of a restaurant's inventory losses, equal to a loss of over 3 % of its annual sales on average. Internal theft is considered stealing cash, food, alcohol, supplies, equipment, gift cards, and retail items. I know we don’t live in a perfect world but I would take many steps to try to prevent internal theft from happening in my restaurant. I would try my best to make sure I hire honest, ethical and truthful people.
With millions of criminal convictions a year, more than two million people may end up behind bars(Gross). According to Samuel Gross reporter for The Washington Post, writes that also “even one percent amounts to tens of thousands of tragic [wrongful conviction] errors”(Gross). Citizens who are wrongfully convicted are incarcerated for a crime he or she did not commit. Many police officers, prosecutors, and judges are responsible for the verdict that puts innocents into prison. To be able to get exonerated many wait over a decade just to get there case looked at, not many are able to have the opportunity of getting out.
Employee fraud is a significant problem faced by all types of organizations. According to the 2014 Report to the Nation on Occupational Fraud and Abuse, research shows that the typical organization loses 5% of its annual revenue each year due to employee fraud (Reed 1). Every organization should have a plan in place as preventing fraud is much easier than recovering from the losses after a fraud has been committed. In the field on accountancy, fraud can be broken into three categories: financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation and corruption. Financial statements fraud causes most median loss as it involves misstating information in the company financial reports.
Wrongful convictions Unfortunately, wrongful convictions are a part of our society today and have been for a very long time. It seems as technology and science advances, more and more individuals are discovered to be wrongfully convicted. There are many things that can be done to prevent such a tragic act from happening because not only does it impact the individual, but it impacts an entire society. This paper will discuss several approaches and changes to be made within the criminal justice system to combat this major problem.
Burglary involves the forceful trespassing into restricted areas, with the intention of committing crimes such as theft or robbery. Like most criminal activities, not all burglary is committed in the same way or even by the same type of criminal. There is therefore a need for the distinction between the different types of burglars and classification of their methods of operation. Maguire identifies three primary distinctions based on the offenders’ individual qualities, separating burglars into low-level burglars, mid-range burglars and high-level burglars (Maguire, 1982). Low-Level Burglars Low level burglary occurs at the most formative level and is common among young offenders who lack elaborate planning skills are foresight during the committing of a crime (Maguire, 1982).
Police have faced armed white people that were threatening to shoot and the worst punishment they were given was arrest. While the criminals were yelling threats towards them, the police were trying to calm them down and get them to put down their weapons for even up to an hour long. There has been similar moments with non white people that were unarmed and causing no harm but still the police chose to shoot the offender for the slightest threat. The police need to keep everyone secure no matter what without considering a person 's ethnicity. Police are supposed to be heroes, grant us safety, and end the day with justice.
The distinction between blue collar and white-collar crime is another clear example of the over-incarceration of people of lower socioeconomic status and the under-incarceration of people of higher socioeconomic status. Blue collar crime is the collective term used to describe crimes typically committed by lower class workers and tend to be of a more violent nature. This contrasts with white-collar crime, which is the collective that refers to those crimes committed that are financially motivated, non-violent, and often committed by workers of a higher class. These white-collar criminals are also usually part of some larger group, company or corporation that is highly motivated by wanting to make a quick, easy profit. The criminal justice system tends to benefit white-collar criminals, in that they have advantages when it comes to how their crime is handled, and there is unequal penalization between the two social groups.
Throughout its history, America has maintained the persistent problem of punishing perpetrators of victimless crimes. One of the most substantial and controversial subjects pertaining to this issue is the matter of illicit drugs and their legalization. In recent years, numerous reforms and revisions have been made to previous drug laws, most often in support of legalizing the possession and use of marijuana. Though these changes are necessary, they should be expanded to protect the users of all currently illegal drugs. Prohibition infringes upon the civil liberties of those who are citizens of the United States, and is a direct threat to the values and standards this nation was founded upon.
Mass Incarceration, Racial Disparities, and Reentry There are several events throughout history that have led us to this era of mass incarceration. In the 1960s, there was a genuine increase in criminal activity, which in turn started to scare a lot of Americans, and it was at the top of most people’s concerns before the next presidential election (Clear, 2007). There was also the War on Drugs in the 1970s, which led to thousands of people getting arrested for non-violent drug offenses (which we are still dealing with today) and harsher punishments/sentences all around. The sentencing policies included the three-strikes laws, mandatory minimum sentencing, longer sentences, and less discretion for parole (Clear, 2007).
Knowing who my employees are helps me to focus on their self-interest and know what their salary should be. If I pay them well enough they will want to keep working for me, which helps my self-interest, and in turn they will have more money to spend on food, housing, and in the stores. I am able to keep my employees motivated to do a good job in the business because of their higher
As a native Cuban, I always appreciate medicine very much. I was limited myself to good healthcare access because my prior country’s healthcare system was not advanced, it had limited resources was not organized in a fair way. In this situation, I realized I needed to learn medicine myself and be in a position to take care of my loved ones and also help as many needed people as I could so I became a doctor. This passion for medicine has continued my whole life, and that is why in this country I am pursuing a career as a nurse.
