Isabelle Gill was a student taking a composition course at a university when she wrote an interpretation and judgement essay based on the Disney princesses in the media. A matter in which Disney princesses are displayed as innocent, beautiful and having passive female behavior, while being stereotyped based on their gender. ‘The media tends to represent women as not too able, too powerful, or too confident’ (The Norton field guide to writing 759) Some analysts suggest the princesses have a balance of both feminine and masculine qualities, due to some of the characters choices that drive the plot and outcome of the movie .Princesses are examined for their role and impact that they make on young girls and women. After studying media portrayals Gill proposes entertainment media does indeed support traditional roles for the princesses much like the news media due to professionals. Gill suggests the princesses negatively impact young girls mainly because the princesses are described on the scenes with degraded physical stereotypical female attributes. Audience- I believe the audience can be both parents and media critics.
