Body worn cameras is a new technology that has been recently implemented in some law enforcement agencies, since it is still relatively new many law enforcement agencies are still testing this new technology in their departments. Body cameras worn by police officers can enhance almost any kind of police patrol, some of the benefits of this new technology is that it can serve as evidence whenever an incident presents in which a police officer is involved, it can also show transparency to the public and enhanced police-community relations, and it can help hold accountable the few officers who abuse the power that was entrusted to them (National Institute of Justice). Body worn cameras can also encourage the officers to do the right thing at all times and not to take shortcuts because they will know that whatever shortcut or action they make that is not in the agencies procedures will be recorded in the cameras.
