Why are villains the ones who make the plot more shadowy? Leaving clues, making crazy decisions and blaming fault on others. Villain, are the most amazing character in the story where they lead to corruption of society or civilization. Jack from Lord of the Flies and Abigail from the Crucible wear masks to hide their true behavior and to fit into their community. Abigail and Jack appear to have a lot in common at first glance, they are remarkably similar. Both Jack and Abigail make an outstanding villain in both books, but they have similar characteristics, they are furious, both are power-mongers, and represent anarchy.

They manage to go by instinct and emotion rather than logic. They use fear to try to get what they want. For example, Abigail threats the girls to not tell about the dancing, if they did then she shall kill them. Whereas, Jack said the boys to respect the rule or they will get beat up. Also, Abigail was violent in the matter of speak, as well as Jack. Both characters play with the crowd’s emotions. Jack was an emotional leader and went with what people wanted. Abigail acted things out, using her emotions to get to people. Abigail and Jack both want desperately something. Jack wants power over the island, while Abigail wants John Proctor. They both use fear to threat other people, Jack uses it to get his follower to listen and respect him, Abigail used it to get girls over to be her follower. They both were the leader in their group and they enjoy other people respecting then. Neither Jack nor Abigail ends up admitting his or her mistakes, instead letting someone else take the blame. Along with similarities, Jack and Abigail are different. Jack seemed power hungry in the beginning. He wanted to be leader, he assumed he was leader at first, but Ralph was voted in. Abigail didn’t want all of this to happen. She tried to wake Betty Paris and tell her to stop Abigail wanted to kill Mrs. Proctor for her husband as, Jack wants to kill Ralph to get power.
