Ray Bradbury is the author of Fahrenheit 451, which was published in 1953. It's based off a world where having or reading a book is a crime. The main character Guy Montag is awakening the reality of books. He had been hiding his investigation about the true meaning of books but was caught. The chase led him to a new city with people like him. The Salem (and other) Witch Hunts was written by Mike Kubic in 2016. The article was written based of The Crucible. There was a group of girls that blamed an innocent, saying that the other girl was possessed by the devil. Basically, if you were accused of being witch you would be hung and killed. In, Fahrenheit 451 Guy hides the fact that he has books and has read them. He has hidden that secret, so that he can continue his investigation and won't get caught. In The Salem (and other) Witch hunts, the girls hid the fact that they're the true girls that are dancing with the devil. They hid their secret and blamed others so that they can continue to do what witches do. Both stories relate in the way were Guy and the Witches had to hide a secret so that they wouldn't get killed for committing a crime. …show more content…

The village believed them right away. Others were not sure of it but either way the girls were going to be killed. In Fahrenheit 451 the pedestrians all they needed to do is call then; someone's house would be burned down. They never investigate on the person to see whether they are a criminal for having books. They just do their job in a matter of minutes. Both stories seem like the firemen and witch hunters don't question the person they just kill them. They both go ahead and take other peoples word for it. If you're accused of something, you're done, they think you've done
