The time period 600 BCE – 1500 CE was bringing many new innovations to trade throughout Eurasia. The extensive Silk Road connected European countries to the far eastern Asian countries (China and India), allowing the rare goods from China to find their way to European markets. New technologies in maritime trade included the production of lateen sails and dhow’s in the Indian region of trade. These technologies allowed trade efficiency to increase allowing states merchants and governments to make more money. Religious people and Statesmen had different viewpoints on this new wealth accumulation.

Major trade routes included The Silk Road, The Sea Roads, The American Trade Network, and the Sand Roads. The trade routes were able to transport various goods throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America, ranging from ideas in medicine to Silk and Gold. The trading routes all worked together to help foster the spread of culture and innovations.
Those goods were Asian and European staples. Along with goods, there were also many new and inventive ideas that were passed along the route such as ideas for religion. There were also diseases that passed through the routes of the Silk Road. During the time period of 200 BC to 1450 AD changes were brought about to the Silk Road and this was largely due to the introduction of the Black Plague as well as the spread of Islam and Buddhism along the routes. Another reason behind the emergence of the Silk Road commerce was also the construction of classical civilizations and their imperial states. These classical civilizations invaded the territory of the pastoral peoples, thus leading to the securing sections of the Silk Road and providing security for merchants and travelers. The Silk Road was then kept going for several centuries by the constant support form later states saw that also benefited from the trade. There was also a need for hard-to-find luxury items desired by the elites across Eurasia that gave the Silk Road a sustained purpose.
During the time period of 600 CE to 1450 CE, people on the Indian Ocean sea lanes and on the Eurasian Silk Roads traded luxury items and used their new technology to help trade prosper. Although they were both trade routes, the Indian Ocean sea lanes traded overseas and the Eurasian Silk Roads were land routes. Indian Ocean sea lanes connect Southeast Asia, India, Arabia, and East Africa. The Eurasian Silk Roads connected East and West China to the Mediterranean. Trade was greatly increasing in these two trade routes around this time.
But during the Silk Road, they would use caravans, camels, horses, and boats. In the Colombian exchange they usually traded people, plants, animals, and diseases. The difference between the trade systems, however, were the way the goods were traded. Along the Indian Ocean, ships were used to carry bulk goods as well as luxury goods along a more relay-based route. Along the Trans-Saharan route, traders used camel caravans to carry mostly luxury goods to their trading destination. There were not many cities along the Trans-Saharan, so they never really did the relay-style trading.
The Silk Road began in the 2nd century BCE with the diplomatic missions of Zhang Qian sent by the Han Emperor. The Silk Road was largely fragmented, commodities carried by merchants of many countries on the Silk Road from present day China to present day Turkey. The interaction of these different cultures created a cultural diffusion that can be seen in the resulting names, tools, jewelry, luxuries and house wares that these different societies adopted. Silk was one of the most important items traded along the Silk Road. Once the Silk Road was open techniques of weaving the silken thread did not begin to spread because this material was similar to that used by cloth weavers.
Extensive trans-cultural commerce occurred as well. Inventions such as crossbows, paper, and gunpowder were traded across the majority of Afro-Eurasia. Many cities, including Tashkent and Kalgan, relied on the business that travelers from the Silk Roads brought. Additionally, many regions shared languages, cultural attitudes, and religious motifs. From the time that America, or at the time the thirteen colonies, declared independence from Britain, Americans have always kept in mind the dynamics of power between the people and the government. This was seen when the colonists started to believe that the British government was too oppressive and decided to consequently declare their independence from their oppressive ruler and government. Then the Founding Fathers of America decided to create a new system of rule to implement in the newly independent country. The first attempt at a system of rule came in the form of the Articles of Confederation, which was created in the first Constitutional Convention. The Articles of Confederation, which was the rule of the land at the time, established a government in which the states had most of the power, while the national government has limited power.
The Silk Roads were a network of trade routes that connected various regions and civilizations in Asia, Europe, and Africa. It contributed to the economic, cultural, and political exchange between these regions for many centuries. Civilizations that were part of the Silk Roads benefited from increased trade, access to new goods and ideas, and cultural diversity. However, at the end of the Middle Ages, the Silk Roads began to decline. Some may argue that this decline was a result of a lack of manufacturing, but in spite of that, new threats, new technologies, and new political policies all played a significant role in the decline of the Silk Roads since they affected various aspects of trade and transportation.
The Silk Road and the Mediterranean Sea Trade Complex were both major trade routes during the classical time period. The Silk Road was located between the Mediterranean Sea and East Asia. The Mediterranean Sea Trade Complex was within and around the Mediterranean Sea. The Silk Roads and the Mediterranean Sea Trade Complex had both similarities and differences, but the Silk Road was much more impactful in history. The Silk Road was more expansive, had a lot more cultural diffusion, and caused many deaths .
It ranged from China to Eastern Europe. It played an important role because it helped generate trade and commerce between various kingdoms and empires. The Silk Road also came close to a time where it could have been taken over by the Mongolian Empire, but it continued on. The Silk Roads became more popular and increasingly well-travelled over the course of the Middle Ages, and were still in use in the 19th century.
