Fields in the United States have lots of natural grass and nice temperatures. Later on, farmers removed the grass with other crops like corn. This caused the soil to be loose and with wind and no water it could easily cause a storm in the United States.The dust bowl was a storm that was caused by a drought and not having enough trees to stop the dust from the fields, it caused many sufferings to not only the people but the farmers too. After the Dust Bowl, there was lots of dust everywhere. Blauvelt states, “As the fields dried, wind picked up the loose soil and moved it into massive, blowing clouds of dust”(Blauvelt). In conclusion, after the storm there was lots of dust everywhere that caused it to be hard to survive and provide for your family. The Drought and Storm were the main things in the Dust Bowl. Blauvelt states in his article, “Although the reasons behind this drought are not fully understood, recent research suggests a change in the jet stream and ocean currents may have made critical alterations to atmospheric circulation and moisture patterns”(Blauvelt). He also talks about how the dust blocked out the sun, traffic was everywhere, and there was so much dirt that it could be measured in inches penetrated into every home in the area (Blauvelt). Blauvelt also says the Dow 2 Black Sunday gave the Dust Bowl its name, so it's a main part of how the Dust Bowls name was created (Blauvelt). The storm deposited a large layer of dust over Chicago for every person that lived there, and blew away the people's livelihood and they could no longer make tax payments (Blauvelt). In conclusion, the Dust Bowl was an intense storm that covered a lot of peoples towns. Many people that were in parts of the United States had begun to feel the effects of the Great Depression and the stock market crash because of the Dust Bowl
