The Industrial Revolution was a period of growth and innovation from the 18th to 19th centuries in which the ever rising number of new inventions caused many changes to society. Manufacturing, transportation, and communication industries flourished, products became widely available after mass-production became common, urban areas were rapidly populated - faster than could be accommodated for - and unions were created in response to dreadful factory conditions.
