The meaning of this article is that we need to unlearn how we were taught growing up. Sex being hidden from us did us no favors. Especially when sexual attention starts very young. If consent is taught early, then we would have known all the signs of predatory and know if someone is doing something to us that is inappropriate. The author goes on to focus on men harassing woman specifically. This did enhance the article, but she should have also added how woman harass men just as much. Men do not really talk about it, because they feel weak or feminine. Newman’s essay was well put together. Her essay was put together in a logical, effective, and organized manner. Every single paragraph flowed together smoothly. She also, did very good with giving examples to make her points. Her tone was pleading, pleading for anyone to listen and help the future children. Newman incorporated pathos in this essay by appealing to the reader’s emotions with not wanting anything bad to happen to any children, because of them not knowing about consent. The author also incorporated logos in this essay, when talking about the states that had sex education being taught in their schools and informing readers on the #MeToo
