Dillon Embrey English IV Schroder 2nd December 7, 2016 Frankenstein Frankenstein uses objects, places, along with different things to symbolize more than just one meaning throughout the story. We see this a lot with the locations chosen for the story. The North Pole and England are the two locations that are completely opposite and symbolize the differences within the story itself. With the North pole being cold and mainly isolated it symbolizes more than just a location. We see this with England as well. England is populated and during the 18th century is very busy and full of people. Both locations symbolize the true meaning of the story with being cold and lonely to full, hopeful, and surrounded by people. The two locations symbolize and represent so much more than just a setting to stage the story of Frankenstein. The use of the two locations of the North Pole and England show the feeling and the inner character of the characters within the story. Seeing this with in the main character of Dr. Frankenstein along with the Dr’s creation, the Monster. This symbolizes who Dr. Frankenstein. The Doctor devoted his entire life to the creation of the monster and isolated himself from everyone, similar to the North Pole. He put his work before his family and everything else important that he cared about in life. The creation of the monster consumed him and turned him into a cold hearted human being.
