I am a human being. I live in a day and age in which life has little value. In which lies are believed if they are loudly repeated and children are not called children until they are nine months old. In which the news is filled with drama and the truth is hard to find. This world is far worse than is noticeable from the sidelines of busy schedules. Life is being devalued. From abortion, which is the killing of unborn infants, to euthanasia, which is the killing of the elderly, human value is being destroyed. Genesis 1:26 says, "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female He created them." I believe our worth as a human being comes not from abilities, but from this knowledge: God created us in His …show more content…

I count myself as Pro-Life because I am Pro-Jesus and in Deuteronomy 30:19 the Bible tells us to choose life: "This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." Through the words of Moses, God was explaining to Israel how to prosper. He had set before them two options: obedience to His Law, and with it blessings and life, or disobedience and worshiping other gods, and with it curses and death. In those days, pagan worship often included sacrificing their own children to the gods. The statement "Now choose life, so that you and your children may live," almost seems redundant. If they choose life, it does not seem necessary to say they will live. Life has always been associated with God, however, so by saying to choose life, He is telling Israel to follow Him, and they will live. I believe life is sacred. I believe every human has equal value. I believe nothing we ever do will change our worth as a child of
