Men, you might have read my first article The Genuine Gentleman and thought this isn't me. Or, more than likely, your lady has given subtle hints that you should read this. Nonetheless, there hope and room for improvement for all of us to find that inner genuine gentleman that is just begging to be shown. So set that ego aside for a few minutes and let's have a man-to-man discussion.
We're human. I understand that. I also understand that women don't make things easy for us. It's hard being a male in the world we live in. There is pressure to succeed, to provide, to protect, the future of your family (or hypothetical future family) is in your hands. All the while, many times, it seems that women don't appreciate or respect what you do for them. This reminds me of the war of 1812, in which we get our national anthem from. No matter what you're doing or where you are take step back and look at your environment. Is there something you could be doing to make sure that the needs of others is put before yours? When you hold open a door for a little old lady you are not just doing an act of kindness. You are representing all males in that very moment. You are saying with that simple action that you are a provider and protector. So the first step is try to be conscious of your environment, which you find yourself in. The next step is ask yourself, "is there something I could be doing to help others." Obviously, I am aware that you cannot feed every hungry soul in the world. But most times, a simple act or word can have profound effect on someone. Look for opportunities. As you continue to practice this you will find that you know longer need to think about it but it comes
