Gatsby is the epitome of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s depiction of the American Dream through The Great Gatsby. Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is a story that tells a story. The main character, Jay Gatsby, relates to Fitzgerald as they both rose from poor financial hardship to wealth and fame. Through the eyes of Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby is an example of the American Dream, which is not possible.
