A status that has overshadowed they're recent terrible music. People might not recognize all the band members. But they do recognize the name U2.

For many music isn't just a hobby. It's a lifestyle. Music fanatics take the art form extremely seriously. When U2 is on stage going crazy; the fans are doing the same thing. The band's ability to engage with they're global fan base is huge. They're support has guaranteed the band longevity. Non fans might complain about some of the brand's marketing and branding tactics.
