Do you think that individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media? When people make harsh statements online it is considered cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is when someone goes online and sends, posts, or shares negative information about another person typically sending threats or intimidating messages. I believe that individuals should be prosecuted for harsh statements made on social media for many reasons including that it can lead to injury, children not attending school, and lastly the internet should be used to help children with things not to bully others. This can lead to not only children getting punished but also their parents. Schools handle situations like this with minor punishments but if the state finds out about it then the parents could be fined depending on the amount of school missed by their child. This could be because some people believe that it is the wrong punishment to give or that children should just learn from their mistakes and not get punished because they are so young.
