Zach’s Reflection Freedom is something we often take for granted and do not realize how much it can impact our life. But how did we earn that freedom and how do we keep that freedom that we so often enjoy without thinking about it? It is because of the brave men and women who are willing to sacrifice everything including their lives to defend our rights and Country. How do these brave men and women get treated after serving our Country is an important issue, which is where originations like the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) come in to help.

In her article “The New Jim Crow,” Michelle Alexander powerfully argues that the American prison system has become a redesigned form of disenfranchisement of poor people of color and compares it to the racially motivated Jim Crow laws. She supports her assertions through her experiences as a civil rights lawyer, statistical facts about mass incarceration, and by comparing the continued existence of racial discrimination in America today to the segregation and discrimination during the Jim Crow laws. Alexander’s purpose is to reveal the similarities of the discriminatory and segregating Jim Crow laws to the massive influx of incarceration of poor people of color in order to expose that racism evolves to exist in disguised, yet acceptable forms
An illusion is a false sense of reality or a deception of the truth. The beauty industry capitalizes on women every day by promoting products that give the illusion of flawless skin, longer eyelashes, longer hair, bigger bra size, and slimming waist line. Many people can be deceived by others because they are not who they portray to be. In Flannery O’Connor’s short story “Good Country people” the author vividly describes a character that has a false sense of reality through intelligence, deception and unbelief. Hugla, the protagonist has a false misinterpretation of her intelligence.
In "Good Country People," by Flannery O'Connor, there are four distinct characters, each with their own opinions and morals. Mrs. Hopewell categorizes her hired help, Mrs. Freeman, and a traveling Bible salesman named Manley Pointer as "good country people." However, the term "good country people" takes on various meanings throughout the story. Mrs. Hopewell believes that she and her daughter Joy—who has adopted the name Hulga—are superior to everyone else. In contrast to their rural neighbors, they are educated and sophisticated.

What does it mean to be an American today? Being an American isn’t hard,but sometimes people just like to not follow things. First thing is being to say The Pledge of Allegiance in school than sitting down on your lazy butt. Second thing is being yourself. Whether you know a veteran or not, they have impacted America in many positive ways. I know that I should stop and think about this more than I do, but I feel that Americans take their freedom for granted in most cases. I often stop and think about all of the things that are possible because of my freedom. My freedom allows me to wed a husband of my choice and someday have a family. I am able to go to college to pursue the career of my choice and interest.

However, few take the time to truly contemplate the meaning of these words. When I hear these phrases, I think of the principles on which our country was founded: the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. But perhaps more important than these rights are the defenders of them: our veterans.
The Viverridae family consist of 34 species in 20 different genera. The main animals that make up these families are the Civets, the Linsangs, and the Genets. The information below will talk about the fossil records, comparing and contrasting between the species traits, comparing and contrasting the job and environment of the species, evaluating the adaptive value of the traits in each species, give the approximation of the time of speciation and theorized cause of speciation, and find a common ancestor between the three chosen species. We don 't typically stop to think about our freedom, it is something most of us are guilty of taking for granted. Even when our freedom is brought to our attention, it is only a brief thought quickly pushed to the back of our minds. Most of us are too focused on our own hardships and shortcomings. However, there are a select few who have come to the realization that this freedom is a highly valued prize. These are the people that fight our battles for us because they value the safe haven that our country is.
The first time I ever experienced freedom was when I came to America. Sometimes freedom ain 't really for all, you still have to follow all rules, and obey your parents. The word *Freedom* means to me is that you may have the right to do what you think is right, and you don’t really have to be one of those people out there that have no right. Even if you don’t have any right you can always dream, and experienced from the people around you, and your friends. When people always tell me what’s right, or wrong, that annoys me.
I just want to thank our veterans for everything that they have done. In this essay I am going to write about what I am grateful for, how hard it is to be away from your family, the sacrifices that I think they have made, what they are doing for our country, and some facts. I think this will be a good topic for me because my great grandpa fought in World War 2. I will never forget him. So I hope you like it
There is no action more honourable than to give one’s life for the sake of another. When we reflect on this sentiment, we think of our firefighters and police force, who throw themselves to the forefront of life-and-death situations to save lives. We think of our military, who willingly step onto the battlefield, putting their lives in danger to protect our country and our people. But we might not think of free speech, the man we remember today. “What has he done for me?”
