Jamel Quattlebaum American People 2 How did the changes that took place in the united states during World War 1 compare to the changes that took place World War 2? Do you see similarities and differences? How would you explain the similarities and differences? After World War I and World War II the united states viewpoints on many things changed drastically for the better and worse.
There are two different wars that both took place during the 1940s. The wars are different because one was the battle between the Americans and the British, and the other was the Japanese giving a surprise attack in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Back then, there were many reasons why our country was involved in fighting their lives in those wars or any other war; one reason could be that the people in Japan were being treated like outcasts. Other reasons might be that there were unfair laws, nobody had rights to do whatever they wanted, or the main reason could be that they did not get along very well and they did not trust each other. They might have thought that they couldn 't work together to form a better economy for the future of our world or for their family and they used to give up really easily and acted like quitters.
World War II By: Mary Jacques World War II was a battle to everyone in the world. When did it start? How many soldiers and civilians died? Also how did it end?
World War II War World II was a horrific war that lasted 6 miserable years starting in 1939 and ending in 1945. Germany was a huge contributor to the starting of World War II, along with its dictator Adolf Hitler. Many countries, religions, and people were changed by this disastrous war. There were even events that occurred before the war that led up to the war. World War II was the most important war in history, and we are still being changed by it today.
During the final stage of the world war II, in August 6,1945 the united states dropped automatic bombs on the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The war in Europe concluded when Nazi Germany signed the instrument of surrender, the Japanese facing this same fate refused to sign and accept the allies demand for the unconditional surrender and the pacific war continued between the United kingdom and china. The U.S warned the Japanese armed forces for unconditional surrender and the Japanese response for this ultimatum was to ignore it. On August 6 an American B-29 bomber dropped an automatic bomb ‘’little boy’’ in Hiroshima, this explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city, killing 80,000 people, after ten hours of the explosion , president
How did WW2 start? Is there a way to justify what went on,? One main reason people fought in WW2 was for natural resources; the attacks planned by Adolf Hitler were not random, they went after places high in natural resources, like oil, or were taking out places that would help their conquest. The Germans would not be stopped - they kept conquering countries left and right, and America basically just let it come unwittingly. There was the treaty of Versailles, and that was only one thing, what about the neutrality acts, or Japan attacking China?
While this chapter covers World War II it is important to look at some of the outcomes and civil rights movements caused by this war. Due to a looming war, Congress approved the first Peacetime Draft in October of 1940, President Roosevelt calling for a “great arsenal of democracy.” While 15 million Americans joined the military it should be noted that due to this draft not all of them were willing recruits. America gave up its last apprehensions to join the war completely after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Americans of all ethnicities flocked to defend our country.
My understanding of World War II has changed greatly, I have come to learn that we were not as innocent as we say we were. We were biased in many ways, we indirectly invoked our involvement in the war. We studied World War I, and at the time, I thought that the espionage act was unconstitutional. I now think that is was a necessary evil after seeing the separation on the home front. In World War II we were more united and separated than ever before.
World War II is said to be the worst conflict in human history. About fifty to eighty million people died all together. There were concentration camps run by the Germans and there were essentially two wars raging. The two wars were the war in Europe and the war in the Pacific, which was Japan against the United States. World War II went on for six years and would destroy more land and property around the world and kill more people than any other war before.
The Jewish, the Russians, the Polish, and even the Gypsies were all put into concentration camps (Kornblum 927). The camps were all over
Kane Brennan Mrs. Marlar Honors U.S. History-G 17 February, 2023 What Does War Make Possible? World War 2 lasted from 1939 to 1945 and was one of the most devastating conflicts in human history. While it was an incredibly devastating event, the war did lead to a significant boost in the economy and created newfound equality for women.
After WWII, society took a drastic change for the better in America. America had just gone through the Great Depression, which was the deepest decline in America’s whole history and everyone was affected. Numerous people lost their jobs and were no longer able to afford basic necessities like a house, food, and water. Many could no longer support their families and had nothing. This was all in result of the market crashing, sending the economy into a downward spiral.
Adolf hitler set up concentration camps to work jew to death or kill them right when they got there by making them “Shower” which was a gas chamber that killed them. At any point the nazi soldiers would accuse the jews for doing something they did not do so they sent them to a camp far worse than the one there were at “Convicted of forgery, aiding the enemy and attempted escape, the sisters were sent to separate prisons. Then in December 1943 Anita was told she was being moved to Auschwitz. She was aware what that meant. “You knew about the gas chambers in Auschwitz long before one was in Auschwitz,” Anita told me.”
The First World War (WWI) was fought from 1914 to 1918 and the Second World War (or WWII) was fought from 1939 to 1945. They were the largest military confrontations in human history. Both wars involved military alliances between different groups of countries. While the WWI involved the alliance system, the WWII involved the Axis Powers and the Central Powers. Periods and duration
There are a a lot of events that led to the beginning of World War II. But, a lot of the events leading to World War II were a direct result due to World War I. One event leading to World War II started with Hitler rising to power in the 1930s, as he was trying to rebuild Germany. As Germany, was crippled due to World War I and the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was crippled due to World War I and the Treaty of Versailles because Germany lost the war, had to take responsibility, and pay a large amount of money. This caused Germany to be in a turmoil.
