What Impact Did Rosa Parks Have On African Americans

Throughout history, African Americans have made a great impact on the condition for their race. In the early years, blacks have faced criticism, hate, and segregation. There have been many individuals who have made a positive impact and change for African Americans. These individuals have taken action to improve their lifestyles and the future of the other people of color. Three very important people who have helped with this impact go by the names of Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and Sojourner Truth. These women made great changes to America. Everyone knows who Rosa Parks is. Even if people do not remember when they heard of her, they know for sure that she made an impact on lives for blacks everywhere. Parks did this because she knew that blacks deserved better conditions and her impact definitely reached one step closer to equal treatment. Another woman who impacted the condition for African Americans was Sojourner Truth. She was born in 1797 and “was an African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist best-known for her speech on racial inequalities, ‘Ain’t I a Woman?’” ("Sojourner Truth Biography"). She wanted to also help make an impact on the lifestyles of African Americans. She was initially born into slavery but she was able to get out of it, taking her daughter with her. One of her main things that she helped with was devoting “her life to the abolitionist cause and helped to recruit black troops for the Union Army” ("Sojourner Truth Biography"). Along with fighting for all African Americans, Sojourner Truth wanted to help find civil rights for women.She joined organizations that supported the rights of women. She often spoke her own speeches at conventions and impacted many with her

Since she was a former slave, she wanted other former slaves like herself to have equal treatment and rights. Although she tried to do such an incredible act, Congress did not agree. Until Sojourner Truth died, she continued to give speeches on the subjects that she strongly believed in. Truth was an amazing woman who spoke for what she believed in. She changed the lives of African Americans. Without her help, the future for the black condition could be different than how it is today.A third and very important black American that made a huge impact for improving the black condition was Harriet Tubman. She is well known for leading the Underground Railroad. She was born a slave and knew what the conditions of slavery were like. She knew that the treatment that slaves received were not right, and she wanted to help make a change for them.
