The name of the novel is “To kill a mockingbird”. The author is Harper Lee. This book published in 1960. This book also won the Pulitzer Prize. “It's a sin to kill a mockingbird.” This sentence appears in the story several times. In this book, the mockingbird is a symbol of innocence. It's a sin to kill a mockingbird means a guilt destroy the innocence.

The story happens in a fictional town which locates on Alabama. The town is called Maycomb. The principals, Scout and Jem, live with their father, Atticus, who is a lawyer of the town. They met a friend whose name is Dill. They are fascinated by their mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley, and try to look his face. One day, Atticus was appointed to defend a black man, Tom Robinson, who was accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. Although Atticus tries his best to help Tom Robinson, this black man still be convicted of raping. This trial also cause Mayella's father strongly grudges Atticus. Finally, Mayella's father, Bob Ewell, attacked Scout and Jem while they were on their way to home after Halloween party. While they were struggling, one stranger kill Bob Ewell and carries Jem home. His father imprisoned him in the house because he did something wrong when he was young. No one had seen him go outside for many years and no one wanted to talk about him. We sometimes put the tags on other people and this tag is hard to eliminate. Boo Radley is such a victim of bias, discrimination and rumor. We shouldn't judge a guy just based on some mistakes he had made many years ago. In last part of story, Boo saved Scout and Jem from attack. This scene showed that Boo Radley is still a innocent people. However, he still couldn't get away from discrimination in the
