Knowing that he was the only person she cared for, he left her questionable and weak. The break up between them to brought Hannah to a very dark place. At this very moment Hannah felt that everyone was against her.
Why is Clay’s name on Hannah’s suicide tapes? Hannah Baker committed suicide, and before doing it, she recorded 7 tapes, with thirteen reasons why she did so. Clay Jensen is the narrator of this story, as well as a victim on Hannah’s list. Although Hannah's tapes were supposed to address those who lead her to commit suicide, Clay's name is on the list so Hannah can thank him. "Clay, honey, your name does not belong on this list" (Asher 200).
Also, the author does an excellent job at using high comedy and different elements of humor to make the story appeal to an older audience, have a unique style of humor, and more
Each event in the story was felt emotionally and gave me insight into the mind of Jeanette (The Main Character). Another reason I think this book is popular is because the story is based off of the authors childhood
A story about accepting others for who they are and not trying to make them like everyone else. A story about finding your voice, and just wanting to live a normal life. I was so happy that Lynn was taught sign language. She was living in a life of silence and confusion, but with sign language she was able to express her feelings and show off her personality, she was able to finally shed her life of vulnerability and live a life of strength and
It 's a jaw-dropping book that will leave you wanting more as the author Laurie writes in a crisp and clear way describing the young girl Melinda’s horrific story and how it unfolds. The author 's tone gives off the vibe of a young frighted girl which I find really enhances this sad, but exhilarating story. This story taught me to always speak up for myself and to never let anyone take advantage of me. I would recommend this novel because it is extremely detailed, painting vivid pictures in your mind that really help to magnify and
This conversation between an anonymous character that we learn to be named Clay Jensen and a store clerk introduces the mysterious plot of this shocking yet amazing novel. Clay Jensen, a high school student, finds a set of tapes in his mailbox with the name Jenny on it. Soon after that we come to learn that the package of tapes are the audio suicide notes of Hannah Baker. In the tapes, Hannah expresses the 13 reasons why she committed suicide, hence the title of the novel Thirteen Reasons Why. In this novel I can visualize the severe and utter pain that Hannah Baker felt before her suicide; I can connect to the stress and anxiety Clay Jensen is feeling; and I am questioning what Clay Jensen will do after he listens to the horrific and physically
The infamous “13 Reasons Why” premiered on Netflix in March and has stirred one too many pots ever since. The Netflix series follows high-school student Clay Jensen and his classmate Hannah Baker, who committed suicide. She leaves behind cassette tapes that explain 13 reasons she says she took her own life. Each tape is made for someone who she felt was responsible for her suicide in some way. The show is facing major controversy.
In the show, there is a graphic scene that portrays the way Hannah commits suicide. The altercation that was surrounding the show, was the fear of copycat effects. Due to this, many schools have sent out emails to parents, informing them about the show and to encourage their kids not to watch it. Some schools have even banned this show from being able to be watched and/or talked about on campus even.
To conclude, this story is a very realistic piece that readers can relate
It is a young adult fiction proving firmly the fact that love hasn’t lost its essence even in today’s generation. It’s a stunning as well as a horrific book and I mean it in every positive way. This book captured my imagination for the whole day. The author tried to make it as realistic as possible and ended up making it devastatingly amazing.
I chose this book because what I had heard about it, and the reviews I saw were good enough for me to choose it. A real-life issue in this book that is similar to a real-life issue that I have encountered is knowing too much and not knowing what to do with the information. I remember this because I was younger and I was really worried about what was going to happen. I would describe the main character of this book as different because it’s not everyday when you see someone who is so willing to be unique to a point where nobody likes them.
It is a historical fiction that the author uses historical facts and situations as background for this story about fictional characters. From reading this historical fiction, readers learn to appreciate stories from the past as most of them feel bored while reading history textbook. It is good to engage readers with the exciting world of history. They can
