In Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, Shelly tells the story of the life of Victor Frankenstein. Throughout the book there are several places where Victor went wrong in his education resulting in the creation of a murderous creature. The places that Victor’s education went wrong were his vast interests in “older studies”, the death of his mother, and his Natural Science teachers’ rude and dismissive behavior of Victors’ education. During the longevity of this report I will discuss Victor Frankenstein and his experience of education in many different settings Also, the price that comes along with the search and understanding of knowledge. On page 68 he briefly explains his interest in these sciences, he said, “ I opened it with apathy; the theory which he attempts to demonstrate, and the wonderful facts he relates, soon changed this feeling into enthusiasm.” Before he knew what the modern and proper thing to study for his interests he was reading books from those long past and more ancient thinking scientists and natural philosophers. These older ideas completely absorbed him, he devoted most of his time studying and learning more from these older sciences.
