What is it like by yourself in the depression? In the book "Bud not buddy" Bud overcame many obstacles. His mother died when he was six, now he's on a quest to find his dad. "Bud not buddy" would be different if he was white including his relatives, because the Amoses would be nicer to him, Lefty wouldn't help Bud and, there would be new people in the band. To begin with, the book "Bud not buddy" would be different if bud was white. Because the Amoses would have be nicer to him. For example, in chapter 2 the Amoses were torturing him and being cruel. They locked Bud in a torcher shed, but, if he was white they would have been nicer to him. For example, they were racist like the racist family alone in chapter 8. They were sitting alone and wouldn't take hand me downs from Negro people. So, if they were racist like most people they'd disliked Bud. To conclude, if he was white the Amoses would be nicer to Bud but, if he was Negro they'd be racist to him. …show more content…

For example, in chapter 10 Lefty gives him a ride to his dads from a bad place were bud shouldn't be because of racist people. But, if he was white lefty wouldn't get him because that place allows whites not negro so bud was safe. Also, Lefty would not want Bud to snitch on him because he's Negro in a anti-negro area. If bud snitched on him he would be in big trouble. To conclude, if bud was white lefty wouldn't help because he thought bud would snitch on him also, bud was allowed to be there so Lefty didn't need to help
