When he is about to become king, it says, “...they kneeled at once, both rich and poor, and cried Arthur mercy because they had delayed him so long, and Arthur forgave them...” (Malory, Book I, Chapter VII) They tried to delay him being made king because they did not believe that he was the rightful king. But he forgave them. He was also a great leader, and a great warrior, too.
Without doubting, the story of King Arthur would always be his victory. "The warrior Arthur, with the soldiers and kings of Britain... was twelve times leader in war, and victor in all battles,” (JONES, 3) By the name of God, there is no possibly for Arthur to lose. Because in all stories, King Arthur and his knights are all great warriors, who are strong and full of willpower. “Arthur and his knights merely sleep, awaiting the call to inspire and rescue us at any time.”
The debate on whether or not the legendary King Arthur of Camelot is real or a myth has always been there as long as all of us can remember. We have all heard stories and tales of this legendary King, and by now all of us have tried to understand the controversies behind the story of King Arthur (Gidlow,). The stories from our childhood were filled with legends, gods and fairy tales, and most of these stories were legendary myths, and we understood them as such. However, the case of King Arthur is different since it is not clear whether the story was just a myth or it was something real. The question is, how we can determine whether or not the tale of King Arthur was a myth or real.
King Arthur is one of the best kings that has ruled over Britain, throughout all of history. Arthur ruled with honor, loyalty, and chivalry, which made him a great king. Many lessons that he learned on his journeys helped him to become the person that he is. Arthur’s journey becoming king can be seen in the novel The Sword in the Stone by T.H. White, and is very similar to Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.

Even though these examples are based on the same original character and theme, they have numerous variations in story, plot, and characters. A character that received equal amounts of attention as Arthur when being recreated is Merlin.

Though every story has the same concept, each story differs in some way. Most characters reappear in each legend, but may have a different role in the story. Characters such as Guinevere, Merlin, Lancelot, and Arthur's knights show up in every story.
There has been an ongoing discussion about whether or not King Arthur ever really existed or is a legend. I am going to give you some points saying that he is real and did exist.
