What Is Life Like The Puritans

The life of a Puritan was difficult. They came to America from Europe to start a new life, a life of theocracy. When they came to America they landed in the New England area, all staying within the same area forming a community of their own. Here is where they lived by God’s laws and his laws only. These laws made a very strict guide to follow for the Puritans. Even though everyone was trying to be saint and stay by the religion, it did not stay that way. Puritans lived by God and his words only; this I can relate to. Although I do not necessarily live by what the bible says, I still do believe. Like the Puritans I believe that everyone has a purpose in life and are born pure. Also, I believe that Satan is always lurking among people. Another thing is trust; I do not trust just anyone, like the Puritans had to second guess people on whether they were a witch or not. Although my trust isn’t doubting if someone is a witch or not, it still has the same theme. …show more content…

I do not surround myself around judgemental people and those who are, I remove myself from their presence. I do not go around accusing people of things based off of the fact that I don’t like them or what they did. Also, I don’t live by the bible and am neither criticized because of it. Puritans also held this belief of being a devil worshiper if you did not believe in god; which I find false. I know that not everyone believes in God, but that doesn’t make them followers of the devil. I believe that people have a choice to live how they want
