Animal Farm was full of corruption from the beginning. It started with Mr. Jones, and continued all the way through the leadership of Napoleon. Both Jones and Napoleon used their corrupted power to manipulate and exploit the animals on the farm. There are many different ways that Animal Farm was corrupted and many different ways they had corrupted it. Some things involved in the downfall of the farm included ignorance, manipulation, and power-hoarding behaviors.

The animals revolt against their farmer Mr.Jones in order to stop the cruelty being inflicted on them. In a turn of events the new leader Napoleon also starts to treat the animals unfairly. We see in the last chapter the quote “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig… but already it was impossible to say which was which”. Showing the cycle the animalism tried to break when they revolted has been repeated once again.

Napoleon initially unifies with the rest of the animal’s, but soon decides to take matters into his own hands and disposes of Snowball and his proposals towards the farm. He takes advantage of the vulnerable animals so he can become in command. Napoleon is clever, brutal, and dictatorial to the animals.
I read a book called, “Animal Farm” written by George Orwell. The book is about animals on a farm who are overworked and aren 't treated well. Then, an insurgency made up of animals with pigs as their leaders, rebel against Mr.Jones (owner of the farm) by driving him off his farm. The animals try to make the perfect life for themselves, but that doesn’t go as planned. The animal farm then starts to fail.

In reality, we have seen this in leaders such as Stalin, who became corrupt once into power. The main difference between Farmer Jones and Napoleon, is that Napoleon ruled by force, while Farmer Jones really had no rule unless the animals were unruly. One example of Napoleon’s forceful rule is shown in the quote “Napoleon acted swiftly and ruthlessly- He ordered the hens’ rations to be stopped, and decreed that any animals giving so much as a grain of corn to them, was to be punished by death”(87). This shows Napoleon’s ability to rule through the use of force and fear. Although morally wrong, force and fear are the most effective ways to rule.
