The American dream is really composed of 3 basic factors, 1-Wealth, 2-Image, 3-Freedom . The classic American car has expressed the particularly American tension between the lure of freedom and the obligations of utility. The journey of the American car follows the rise and fall of American manufacturing, the suburbanization of the country, the birth of the hippie and the yuppie, the emancipation of women, and many more fateful episodes and eras, including the car’s unintended consequences: trial lawyers, energy crises, and urban sprawl. The car industry built America while America was building it. The Car industry also allowed american to achieve a tool and toy for a relatively cheap price. This tool provided Americans with the freedom to travel wherever they may please, freedom. In America, the 19th century had been the great age of independence, of the individual who depends upon his own wits, his own skills and luck, the humble car extended the reach of this independence that many Americans held as an important quality of life. Cars were symbols of individual freedom and created an individual distinctive identity to live by.
