Introduction: The Second World War, WWII, was a global war as it involved most of the world’s countries, lasting from 1939 to 1945. There are many points of view as to why WWII was fought, but it ultimately goes back to the end of World War I, and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Adolf Hitler slowly rebuilt German forces and, driven by his expansionist policy, first invaded Czechoslovakia in March 1939 and then Poland on 1 September 1939 prompting the declaration of War from Britain and France. America managed to stay out of the war, citing neutrality, until 1941.
It is September 1st, 1939, and World War II has just begun. This was a very frightening moment for a lot of people with all of the vibration of guns raining, airplanes flying over the dark sky, and the cry of many families. The cause of World War II was the German invasion of Poland on September 1st, 1939. World War II was fought between two groups of countries. One of the sides was the Axis Powers, which included Germany, Italy, and Japan.
Tension was rising between the U.S. and Japan long before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It began in 1919 as repairs were being made for WWI, Japan was on the “winning” side and wanted something in return. During the meeting at Versailles, Japan felt that Europe and America were excluding them and trying to keep distance. Japan was ready for change and separation from America and Europe. The Japanese wanted to prove their dominance by launching a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Japanese expansion, Japan was growing rapidly. Some countries were taken over by dictators Adolf Hitler. Hitler was the dictator of Germany. The reason the United States stayed neutral in the beginning of the war was because of many reasons.
Several key events lead up to the First World War coming to an end in 1918, including the naval blockade that British Navy lead to German ports, the eventual plummet of Germany’s economy and the Kiel mutiny, as well as other unified mutiny’s across Germany that eventually to their surrender. Britain also however suffered great loss of its men, losing 908,371 soldiers during the war with a total of 8,904,467 soldiers, sailors and pilots deployed in the war. Source A shows that we won because it says the British invented tanks and that we were smart for creating them, and not that the Germans were at fault. This is shown in the poster when the military describe the tanks as “a travelling fortress that clears the way for our soldiers.”
The following events caused the tensions to raise between Japan and The United States of America which led up to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Internment of Japanese Americans. They are the Rape of Nanking and the sudden stop of U.S exports to Japan. In the 1930s Japan, had become very nationalistic, militaristic, and desired for more land to expand the population. So, Japan went to China and conquered Manchuria, Northern China, then most of China, and eventually Southeast Asia. This help Japan get out of its economic crisis but soon a very tragic and horrendous even took place.
Japan started World War Two because they were going through an economic crisis and believed that China had oil, which was what they needed. That was the start of Japan’s involvement, which over time progressed to the other countries. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 which blindsided America. The U.S decided to move all Japanese-Americans and relocate them to a designated area to protect the U.S from the possibility of any Japanese-Americans helping Japan from the U.S. These actions would change the life of Japanese-Americans forever.
In the beginning of World War II, the Japanese made the United States go to war due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. They wanted to bomb the Pearl Harbor to try to make the US surrender because Japan and the US were arguing about taking over China. Also, we had all of the oil rich areas, therefore, Japan wanted to take over those because they were running low on oil resources. The Japanese was planning to bomb the United States at Pearl Harbor for a while because they realized that the bombs that were first invented had to dive down into the water so far before coming back up and destroying the ships.
The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the final action that brought the U.S. into WWII. When the U.S. joined the war, they sided with the Allies. The major Allies were the United States, Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union. The Allies worked together to defeat the The attack changed many Americans opinion on whether or not the U.S. should become involved in the war. Many citizens now wanted to become involved in the war effort to help the Allies win the war.
The Japanese and the United States had conflict between each other due to a previous attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Six months after, they stuck back again in Midway to gain control of the Hawaiian Islands. Also because Japan conquered islands such as Malaysia, Singapore,
