In the song “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle the central message appears to be someone willing to go out of their way to help and/or essentially “save” someone. The song demonstrates a journey for someone to have taken to be in such need whether that be mentally, emotionally, or physically of help and comfort where the individual singing is looking to provide “armies”' of strength to them. There are many reasons people feel as though they need rescuing such as addiction, self-harm, suicide, mental illness, etc. These factors cause individuals to feel that all hope is lost and feel at an ultimate low inside. Many individuals find themselves searching for and desiring a better life than their current life which leads to harmful outlets to try to change their lives. They search for belonging, comfort, forgiveness, and love which many find in religion. Religion is a rescue mechanism for many people, believers find that having faith can lead them onto the right path and give them a feeling of belonging in the world. To me, this quote from the lyrics means to me that even when it feels like you are alone in the world you are not and there will always be someone to help and rescue you. As someone who has struggled with my mental health, this quote could help many people understand that they never are truly alone and there will always be someone there for them, even when it feels like the whole world is against them. To the general audience, the quote
