Later on in 1916, it was reincorporated and named General Motors Corporation. For most of the 20th and early 21st centuries, GM was the largest manufacturer of motor vehicles, particularly cars and trucks, around the globe. GM expanded its business by acquiring many other companies like Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and Oakland (now known as Pontiac), Reliance Motor Truck Company, and Rapid Motor Vehicle Company, etc.
