Two rights In 1777 the colonies of the time were functioning without any sort of federal government. The problem was fixed when the Articles of Confederation were put into action. The Articles of Confederation established a form a governance and placed limits on government authority; it also created a national citizenship which applied to qualified members. The weaknesses however outweighed the benefits, which is why the Articles were scrapped entirely and the constitution was conceived. Two of the most important rights the constitution has to offer would be the freedom of speech and the right to bare arms. In many regions of the world the freedom of speech in not an accessible right. With Freedom of speech American society can speak freely
