What Is The Meaning Behind The Image Of Same Human Bone By Kaneko

When we look at this picture, we don’t think of the true meaning behind the image. We see two skeletons, but that’s not the point it is trying to get across. Everyone is human, we are all developed the same and grow the same, yet for some reason we are different. In this image “BONE” by Yutaka Kaneko, he uses vivid imagery, irony, and logic to dive into the depths of injustices throughout America, specifically on the topic of race.

What Kaneko is trying to engrave within our minds is the idea that we are all the same under our skin. We are all made up of bones. Race is a baffling concept because looking at the bigger picture of it insinuates it’s all just because of a skin color. In the image Kaneko writes “Same human bone”. Every one of us end up in the same place, in a coffin, six feet under. When you go to visit a person you once lost, you’re not looking around the cemetery wondering who is black, white, Asian, Mexican and so on. You’re thinking of your family, …show more content…

The author is appealing to people's emotions and logic. Were all very much the same on the inside but it's the outside that matters to others. We are all created the same, and eventually all die. This image's purpose is to explain the logic of race to the world. The world is held to strict principles regarding race. If you're racist, you're hated. If you're nice, people question you. How can you win? Kanekos photo captures the perspective as hopeful yet hopeless. We know racism throughout America will never truly be fixed. I believe Kaneko could also be trying to emphasize the irony of this image. We say we're all the same but act as were all so much different. Saying is much different than doing and people do not connect those two words together nowadays, nor have they ever. The world has fantasies of theories and solutions but they will never become prevalent
