Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
She would have been a serious threat to the queen as Mary had a claim to the English throne which was based on the fact that she was the grand-daughter of Margaret Tudor (Henry VIII’s sister). In the eyes of the Catholics, Mary's claim appeared stronger than Elizabeth's because they believed that Henry's marriage to Anne Boleyn was illegal. This would have seriously threatened Elizabeth’s security as there was a possibility that Elizabeth could lose her place on the English throne, therefore endangering her safety, royal supremacy, religious settlement. However, this threat didn’t remain as on the 19th May 1568, Elizabeth imprisoned her cousin. This shows that Mary, who was a prestigious Catholic, didn’t remain a threat to Elizabeth’s security as she was imprisoned for 19 years and was consequently unable to do anything about Elizabeth being queen.
All throughout the story Tom and his wife seem to argue very much. Tom never wanted to please his wife and would never try or do anything to please her. Also, both Tom and his wife were so miserable in their marriage they cheated on eachother. “... with the loss of his wife, for he was a man of fortitude. He even felt something like gratitude towards the black woodsman, who, he considered had done him a kindness.”
‘It wouldn’t be true’ ‘of course it wouldn’t,’ agreed Tom. She turned to her husband ‘As if it mattered to you’” (133). No matter what choice she makes no one will be content with the decision, especially her. Although life with Gatsby would be more enjoyable, she knows that if she made this choice she would lose everything including her daughter. Therefore her decision, however unfortunate, is glaringly obvious.
The novel shows the reader that Tom Buchanan’s wife isn’t staying with him for love but for greed-filled reasons. One of those reasons being her not wanting to let go of the life she lives; Daisy was
This quote points out the actions of Tom. Tom essentially calls himself out for his cheating actions, his desires for another woman while being with Daisy. It is exemplified that even before Toms cheating scandal, that Tom was affecting his relationship with Daisy before it even started. Due to Tom’s lustful mindset, marriage was forced upon Daisy, destroying their marriage before it had even started. Since Tom forced Daisy into marriage, he ruined his relationship with her.
Tom had many affairs throughout his marriage with Daisy but he still says, “‘And what's more, I love Daisy too. Once in a while I go off on a spree and make a fool of myself, but I always come back, and in my heart I love her all the time’”. (131) He claims to have always loved her, even though he never sought out for the relationship until the end. The men never showed interest and their relationship slowly fell apart, and they didn’t care until it was too

Tom was raised in a Catholic household meaning that Tom’s family does not believe in divorce. However, they do believe that even if you do sleep around and cheat on your wife you can just repent, ask for forgiveness, and your sins a cleared. It is told to the reader that Tom is Catholic by Catherine in chapter two when she is talking about the true reason that tom will not leave Daisy. This shows why Tom does not really care about the fact that he is cheating on his wife because due to his beliefs he thinks that he can just ask God for forgiveness and everything will be good.
Near the end of his life, Anne questions Charles for abandoning his children to support the children of his affairs. He then described that he wanted a chance to be as great of a parent as Anne was, and she responds with, "Why didn't you give our children that chance? They would have welcomed it. Tom cared more about his affair with Myrtle than his own wife. Neither Tom nor Daisy truly wanted to be in the relationship. George had his life all mixed up not knowing that Myrtle is being unfaithful to him. These instances of dishonesty from all of these characters against each other result in their own twisted realities due to unfaithfulness and dishonesty.
Medieval society had the idea to illustrate women under two Biblical figures Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene. This caused clashes in many aspects to question what loyalty must be. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the lady who is married is portrayed to be a lion towards Gawain, wanting sex from him and making him believe the stereotype of married women unable to control her sexual desires.. Also, young women who were married were depicted wild. In Miller’s Tale, Allison is portrayed as the unfaithful young wife of John, who could not control her desires of wanting Nicholas under her sheets.
This signaled the destruction of their relationship. Even in history, the breaking of promises led to the destruction of relationships. Following his divorce to his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, then-King Henry VIII married the young, 20-year old Catherine Howard. Because of his advanced age at the time, the marriage to Howard made Henry feel more youthful, and consequently happier. When Henry discovered that Howard was flirting with one of his courtiers, he was devastated, and ordered her execution (“Henry VIII”).

Upon hearing this Henry sentenced Anne to trial for treason and adultery. After Anne was found guilty she was beheaded. The third of the six wives was Jane Seymour. This wive was the most important to Henry due to the fact that she produced Prince Edward, so that the tudor dynasty could continue after Henry's death. Unfortunately during the birth of Edward she caught an infection and died only 12 days after the birth.
