1. The 1920s was a decade of prosperity, fun and wild living, it was known also as "The Jazz Age". boasting new music, shocking fashions and improvement of life. The innovations behind many inventions that would attract attention in the 1920s, this included many things; radios, motorvehicles, entertainment, and much more. Peripherals such as radio and entertainment were rapid changes in technological advance, people sought out new forms of entertainment such as art, sports, and moving pictures.
The 1920s was a golden age for the United States, as the economy was rising. When jazz was played everywhere you went, and flappers were in style. It was hard to think that a decade later the economy and lives of the American people would change drastically. Due to such changing times so did culture, inventions, and economics. These include; women empowerment, the inventions of radios and automobiles, and the creation of commericialism.
The 1920s was a time for women to grow. To begin with, the nineteenth amendment was ratified, which made women feel “emancipated” to be able to have a political voice (United States). Another thing that changed in women was their willingness to work. During World War I, many women had to work in the workforce to help to limit the shortage of jobs but would not quit after the war due to the fact that they enjoyed their independence socially and economically (United States). Lastly, a largely popular idea of the flapper was created.

New ideas were introduced, people lived differently from traditional beliefs, and new inventions were created to make life better. People thought it would continue but after the twenties, the dirty thirties begun. It was a time period of depression, because of the stock market crashing, many people lost their jobs, banks crashed, which lead to more people losing money. Still in this horrendous time, there were new inventions that helped the world.
Similarly, many sports were popularized during this period, and in the 1920s, baseball was so prevalent that it gained the title of “America’s National Pastime” (NCPedia). With the new ability for people to buy other products than basic needs, their money went to new inventions, causing new industries to grow.
