From my experience, I have faced adversity, challenges, and felt the need to rush a process instead of enjoying the midst of the process. My start to Hotchkiss was not the smoothest transition. Coming from a public high school with over 3000 students, going to school 5 minutes away from home, and being around the big city all the time was something I was accustomed to. With my move to Hotchkiss I was culture shocked. The environmental differences, being in a remote location without a major outside city near, Saturday school and the rigorous courses Hotchkiss provided presented me with early challenges. I struggled with getting to class on time from my lack of knowledge of the buildings and campus, my discipline began to fall with waking up on time as homework started to pile up, and my nights seemed to be getting longer because of my poor time management skills.
