“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” Clarence once uttered in the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Life was important to George Bailey whether he knew it or not for three main reasons. He stopped Mr. Gouger, his old boss, from accidentally putting poison in pill capsules, saved his brother ,Harry Bailey, from drowning in a lake, and rescued the town from being under Potter’s control. “It’s a Wonderful Life” displays the theme, Everyone got put in their place for a reason through evidence from the story, for example when George saved his brother's life, when he stopped Mr. Gouger from accidentally putting poison in pills, and stopping Mr. Potter from taking over the town. Without George, many things that happened would not have ended up the way they should have. An example of this, is when George concluded Mr. Gouger from accidentally putting poison in pills and poisoning many kids. If George Bailey wasn’t there to conclude that from happening, the kids who would have taken the pill capsules would most likely have been dead or poisoned. With Potter in control of the town, you can imagine it going down hill because he is a egotistical person who only cares about his business and money. One thing that would happen is that the Bailey Bros business would come to a conclusion because Potter always despised the Baileys and that would be his first thing on his list. People would lose their houses because they aren't able to pay for the high loans and he would make houses expensive because he only cares for money. He would also transform most buildings into bars and clubs. This would affect the people’s lives who live in Bedford Halls in many ways as you can
