The Tragedy of Macbeth is a well known story that revolves around the word “ambition” but this ambition isn’t always self driven by someone, but rather through the influence of someone else who maintains control of the situation. The story is about a man whose desire to be the king and have power leads to the murders of those who might stand in his way. Throughout the story we see many characters who play major parts in how one event follows another, and how some characters seem to completely have control of the events in the story. Although in Macbeth the Three Sisters and Macbeth exhibit some control over the events, Lady Macbeth has the most responsibility.

In Act I Scene VII, Lady Macbeth addresses Macbeth regarding killing King Duncan. The thought came up when Macbeth received a prophecy saying that he would be King, which then led to him wanting to be King sooner rather than later. After Macbeth brought the idea up to Lady Macbeth, she was on board to go ahead with it and, at the time, so was Macbeth.
Making a movie from direct content that is more than a hundred years old is easy because all the scenes and script is there for your use. Some directors like to make some drastic or minor changes based on their own interpretation of the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. While watching both Goold (2010) and Polanski (1971), I have noticed a lot of major differences between the two movies and the original play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare. Some of the differences I have noticed is that is in Goold (2010), Macbeth actually comes to kill Lady Macduff and her children. Another difference in Goold (2010) is that the witches are shown throughout the film.

The Tragedy of Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragedy about a man named Macbeth. He receives a prophecy on the battlefield that foretells that he will be king and it drives him crazy to try to make the fortune come true and he hurts and kills many people in the process. Macbeth tries to bury the past by making it seem like the dagger killed the king and not him. He also rejects the image of Banquo, his best friend being king and not him.

With his tragedy Macbeth, playwright William Shakespeare explores the interaction between anxiety versus ambition in a balance of power. At the beginning of the play, title character, war general, and Thane of Glamis Macbeth is told by three witch sisters of fate that he will also become the Thane of Cawdor and the King of Scotland. He murders the previous king Duncan from persuasion by his wife and his own ambition, and from this begins to experience a sense of regret about the situation, one that will frequently appear in his future endeavors to secure his crown. MacBeth is the main character in Shakespeare's MacBeth and rightfully so. He is the character that changes the most and has the greatest impact on the story. MacBeth is the one whom the tragedy is placed on, and because of this it is his story. MacBeth's dynamic character changes throughout the play driving the story forward and showing the theme of visions of power create ambition in individuals. The first point that has to be explained is MacBeth's dynamic character.

People often don't know that they have something inside of them that drives them to do the most horrible things. You must be aware of the animal inside of you because it's there and you never know when it's going to come out. We saw Jack's survival insists take over and it caused him to start killing the boys on island. Macbeth was so deadeye on trying to prevent or allow what the witches told that he was willing to do anything to changed his destiny. People who stood in his way were killed by him or by his hitmen.
Does Macbeth relate to modern society? This can go both ways, there is some evidence that states it relates to society, and some that does not. Most of the story relates to Society for a good reason. If you have the ambition to get a task done, you would do anything to get it done. Even if you use immoral means to get done.
There are many people in the world that experience mental problems and therefore affecting their personality. Not everyone though is as bad as Macbeth when it comes to mental deterioration. Macbeth is a very self-centered man and it leads him to change the person he once was. Although it is not seen much in the beginning of Shakespeare's play “The Tragedy of Macbeth”, Macbeth’s mental state deteriorates as the play progresses, which can be seen when he is guilty of murdering King Duncan, being taunted by the ghost of Banquo, and his speech to the witches.
Macbeth vs. The Real World (An Analysis of Macbeth and his relation to 21st century Society) The depth of literature is greater than the depth of the greatest ocean. It goes deeper than we could possibly imagine. A classic example of great literature is Mr. William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. This is play that most groundlings would have been interested in due to its murder, battling, and occasional humor.
In the tragedy of Macbeth, there is much deception, murder, and sadness. It is very interesting how the story plays out with the many crimes Macbeth and his wife commit. They do get what they deserve, but not by the hand of a judge or a courtroom, and certainly not at the pace that they should have received their punishment. In Act I, Macbeth and Banquo had just returned from their battles against the invading armies of Ireland and Norway.
Throughout literature, we see human characteristics in our characters. Characteristics such as punishment, downfall, middling character, free choice, and nobility. In this play called Macbeth we see all these characteristics fall into place throughout the good and bad choices acted on by our main character Macbeth. The play demonstrates how power will make or break character and lead to his/her own destruction by possessing a few of these characteristics. Macbeth demonstrates both literal and figurative nobility as the plot beings to grow throughout the play.
It has been often said that Shakespeares plays are no longer relevant to the 21st century, but I think otherwise. I believe that Shakespeares plays are still very relatable and the themes can still connect with the 21st century. Macbeth, for example, has many themes that could connect with the themes and fundamentals of today. Some of the themes in Macbeth that are relevant today is the corruption of power, ambition, and fate. All of these themes happen today in the 21st century, making Macbeth very relevant today.
The personality of Macbeth changes over the course of the play as Macbeth murders many innocent people like, Duncan, Banquo and Macduff's family. The death of these characters symbolizes the death and birth of something inside Macbeth and the beginning of his downfall. Macbeth, at the beginning or the play, a brave soldier only protecting his people and his king, to Macbeth a murderous tyrant only looking out for the greater good of himself. The death of Duncan symbolized the death of Macbeth's before anxious and confused self and birthed a Macbeth full of guilt and anxiety. After being led to Duncan by a floating dagger and murdering him, Macbeth returns to his wife crying, "One cried "God Bless us!"
