To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee is an incredible book with many great themes and plot twists. In To Kill a Mockingbird, A black male, Tom Robinson, was accused of raping a young woman named Mayella. This led to a trial being held to determine if he is guilty or not guilty. Many themes play a big role in the book, but I think that perspective was the biggest theme because it tells readers a lot about not making judgement until you hear other views. I feel that this is a big part in the trial with Tom Robinson because it seemed liked many people in the trial room and around the town already made up their mind the Tom was guilty of raping Mayella, but they didn’t even have a chance to hear what others’ views of the story was or what Tom was …show more content…

Another quote that I found is, “He’s not an example, Dill, he’s-“I was trying to grope in my memory for a sharp phrase of Miss Maudie Atkinson’s. I had it; “He’s the same in the courtroom as he is on the public streets.” This quote is about people making fun of Tom Robinson and coming to conclusion. When this is happening, it feels like the are just jumping to a conclusion just because they don’t like Tom. This is a very important lesson for them because this is very racist, and life should never be that way since we are all
