Most heroes are determined and courageous. Frederick Douglass once said, “I remained firm...reaching new york without any interruption(SB 71).” Which meant that he was determined to spread the word to the world about slavery and no one could stop him from doing so. Looking back on the myths a hero did not have it easy. They faced a lot of tough challenges and had to sacrifice many things to gain their status. These abilities are important as a warrior because both his men and the hero reflect and are influenced by them. Some of the abilities are excellence in war, courage, leadership and fighting qualities. These qualities are seen through the heroic characters Hector and Achilles. When Achilles is not present with his men, the Greeks are well defeated by the Trojans with no motivation or support.
