1984? More like 2017, Big Brother is Everywhere, every move, every breath, every step we make he is behind us. Big brother is controling us 2017 through things that seem insignificant.The people 's( government) on top of us know the way to make us fall into manipulation. They know how to control us . social media plays a role in this process, Music, the way and what is taught to us and spying such as spies and surveillance to track our moves. We have no privacy! Not in Public of course and not even in the own Comfort of your Home. Smart televisions , smartphones, laptops and tablets that have microphones and cameras as standard equipment , the CIA has created tools to turn them into listening posts surprises no one in the …show more content…

Why? Because if they are scared they are willing to do anything in order to stay safe. For example when someone assaults you with a gun and demands for your money, what do most usually say? “Dont hurt me , I 'll give you everything I have, just don 't hurt me”. Governments use fear as a strategy to control people for example back in the times after the bombing of hiroshima our government send videos out to schools, televisions etc.. to publicate to citizens on how to prepare if there was a bombing because if they were preparing them the government was controlling them and live in fear and probably think that the United States government can help them . so companies started to sell first aid kits for bombing , the government made people believe that everything they do is for their own benefit. In 1984 they used fear as a way of control because when Winston was caught with Julia they took him into room 101 which was the room of torture and basically where O’Brien picks up a cage full of enormous, squirming rats and places it near Winston. He says that when he presses a lever, the door will slide up and the rats will leap onto Winston’s face and eat it. starving rats just inches away( chapter V), Winston Changes his mind . He screams that he wants O’Brien to subject Julia to this torture instead of him. O’Brien, satisfied by this betrayal, removes the cage. O 'Brien uses Winston 's Fear to Control him, he wanted to Change the Way
