In the book Walk Two Moons, by Sharon Creech, Phoebe Winterbottom is a character who was raised in a proper household, therefore, she views the Finney family different than Sal, the main character. Phoebe has grown up learning to be proper and respectable, so she thinks of the Finney’s as crazy and disorganized. For example, Phoebe points out, “Mary Lou’s parents don’t seem to have much control over things,“ as stated on page 44. (Creech, page 44.) This quote shows that Phoebe thinks that the Finney family is not as decent as hers.
During her walk she hears footsteps behind her. She knows that it is not someone she knows but whispers, “Mom,” just incase. During all of this she reminds herself of what her mother would think. She thinks to herself, “These were all things mother would have said showed a lack of thought.” Then

Thomas builds her credibility with personal facts and reputable sources. Thomas successfully informs the readers about her argument of buying a fake product. Thomas assumes that the readers, does not know the truth behind buying a counterfeit product.
In doing so, she was able to infer information about their unknown personal conditions and emotions that was not depicted by their “co-workers” or managers. “His [Willie] fingers are clasped and his mouth agape, as if waiting inspection -or maybe a whack on the head”, states Macy, “Between the tight suits and off-center bowties, ‘they were dressed with some care for the ruse but not really that much attention to detail” (pg.101). With one souvenir post-card, the author was able to interrupt and draw conclusions about how they boys were treated. With the small sizes of the clothes, that they had been supposedly “wearing for a couple of years” (pg.100) ,
After a couple of months Abby Borden noticed that her jewelry and about forty dollars was stolen from the house. Both Lizzie and Emma denied having any acknowledgement of how this could have happened. The maid at the time was with Mrs. Borden the entire day and could not have committed the theft. The police began to investigate on the matter, however they were quickly dismissed by Mr. Borden’s request to drop all charges. However hatred still was high among the two girls and Mrs. Borden.
In Sarah’s Key many characters stood up for what they believed and how they believed was right. One of the most recognizable moments of voice in Sarah's key was when Julia had informed William of his mother's past. The novel states “ I’m glad you told me what happened .. I think Julia was right to contact William.(De Rosnay 266)” Through the evidence given the author emphasizes Many voices in one.
It is blatantly obvious that poor little Betty is just putting on an act. I am in awe knowing that the naive townspeople actually believe this nonsense. Their mouth’s speak such nonsense such as, “ I saw Betty flying over the barn last night” . Meanwhile, my uncle is interrogating me non stop, speaking about how i have blush on my name. There is not one amount of blush on my name!
Rachel Price is a beautiful young girl who joins her family on a one year mission trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. She is a girl who likes herself a little too much. She is completely vain and self-conscious. Rachel is constantly worried about her appearance, as most teenage girls are in the United States. She brings along with her a mirror just to keep in touch with herself.
She overhears her parents talking about the hardships that they have to deal with. According to the author, the text states, “The world had lost its boundary lines. My mother, who was small and soft, was now the strength of the family; my father, who was the rock on which the family had been built, was sobbing like the tiniest child. Everything was suddenly out of tune, like a broken accordion. Where did I fit into this crazy picture?
Sal already knew her mom had died, but she didn’t want to believe it. She never let herself believe that her mom has passed away. Sal’s mom died when she was going to Lewiston, Idaho. She was in a bus, and the bus tipped over killing everyone except one person, and that person wasn't Sal’s mom. Sal loves her mom and doesn’t want to think she is dead.
First of all Mona and the narrator both have different levels of common sense. On one hand Mona has common sense. When mona wanted to go inside but the narrator didn't let her go inside (385). Mona wanted to go inside while her sister didn't want to go inside. On the other hand the narrator does not have common sense.
However with a contrast of how her mother succeeded she also repeats a line “ This is how you hem a dress when you see the hem coming down and so to prevent yourself from looking like a slut I know you are so bent on becoming “ this line shows that she is letting her make her own decisions however guiding her towards the right direction. The mother uses these undertones to prove points without saying them for example when she says this is how you smile at a boy you completely like, this undertone makes it clear that she wants her daughter to meet the one before she pushes her independence. The story girl uses many undertones and small hints while also explaining the mother's success to freedom this makes the short story have a deeper meaning of freedom and looking to people for success.

She was happy in his games and in his innocence. One day on our walks in the woods accompanied by Gilbert‘s grandfather he was approached by a man who spent some time talking with him, he looked like a lumberjack he seemed to the loggers who visited the farm, In this moment I had a feeling that the day of our departure from the farm was not far away.
